Lauren Woods is a proud University of Alabama at Birmingham graduate with over 12 years of experience in the realm of communications. Her expertise expands from journalism to public relations to event planning. During her tenure in broadcast news, she acquired skills as a Multi-Media Journalist and video editor, but most of her time was spent serving as a news producer. Lauren has written copy for tens of thousands of early risers as they began their day each morning. Her biggest accomplishment came during her tenure at THV 11 in Little Rock when one of her newscasts was selected as a 2015 nominee for the Mid-America Emmy Awards. Lauren transitioned to PR in 2020, where she began curating eye-catching headlines to spark the interest of journalists and wrote captivating content for social media that caused people to stop scrolling and engage! In 2021, the Birmingham Business Journal recognized Lauren as a NextGen Honoree for her contributions to her company and role in her industry. In 2022, Lauren was a recipient of UAB’s Top 25 Excellence in Business award. In 2023, she established The Serenity Agency, which is a public relations and event planning agency. The name, serenity, is an homage to her maternal great grandmother, Lizzie Ann Robinson, and her paternal great grandfather, Jerry Woods. Her agency’s mission is to build brands and elevate experiences for small businesses and individuals. When not working, Lauren loves traveling, trying new restaurants, and spending time with family and friends, especially her adorable nephew Noah.
